LYONS, Kan. – During a special noon-hour meeting Thursday, the Lyons City Council agreed to begin the process of hiring an interim city administrator. The decision comes after the resignation of current city administrator Chad Buckley was announced earlier in the week.
Mayor Dustin Schutz said that he has identified several potential candidates for the interim role, with the Council expressing strong interest in pursuing former Hutchinson City Manager John Deardoff, who has served in several interim roles since retiring from that position.
Schultz and Council members discussed the process to locate a new administrator, including the costs involved.
