1953-2025
Tony E. Brooks, 71 entered the gates of Heaven on January 10, 2025 at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center with his family by his side.
Tony was born November 17, 1953 in Chanute, Kansas to Leona (Schul) and Lester Brooks. Tony was raised in Chanute, and was the oldest of 3 boys. On May 29, 1976 he married Kathy L. Carter in Chanute, KS. Tony followed his love of welding, working for Screw Conveyor in Chanute for many years until his failing health forced him into early retirement.
Tony enjoyed fishing and woodworking, and passed much of his knowledge to his survivors. Tony left a lasting impression on everyone he met and will be greatly missed.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, and 2 brothers, Doug Brooks and Leonard Brooks.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Brooks of the home, 2 children, Chris Brooks (Karen Meyer) of Sioux Falls, SD, and Tracy McDonald (Jeff Stout) of Chanute, 6 grandchildren; Breianna, Piper, Abagail, Adrienne, Caleb, and Jacob, 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Countryside Funeral Home and a Celebration of Tony’s Life will be held at a later date.
