She graduated from Canton High School with the class of 1991. Sherrie later received her Associate’s degree in Accounting.
She was united in marriage to James V. Berry on June 20, 1992.
Sherrie was a devoted homemaker, a beloved waitress at the Pear Tree and the boss at Tip Top Tree.
She was a member of the McPherson Free Methodist Church. Sherrie and James bowled for several years in mixed leagues. She sold Avon and babysat out of her home. Above all, Sherrie loved spending time with her family. She lived for her time with family and friends and didn’t let her illness define her, she was known to her family as a strong and resilient woman.
Sherrie loved crafts and spent her time crocheting, painting, and sewing. She was an excellent cook. Sherrie and James spent a lot of time in and on the lake, and after she got sick, they purchased an RV to travel. She especially loved their trips to Arkansas and the Ozarks, and Oklahoma.
She is survived by her husband of almost 33 years, James Berry of the home; parents, Nick and Lola Nickel of Canton; daughter, Desseray (Brian) Norder of Hays; son, Dannial Berry of Moundridge; bonus daughter, Sarah (Jordan) Johnstonbaugh of Wichita; grandson, Thomas Norder; brother, Ed (Jen) Downs of Chugiak, AK; sister, Tauna Corbin of Denver, CO; in-laws, Marvin and Carol Berry of Kingston, OK, and Brian and Peggy Flynn of Moundridge.
Sherrie was preceded in death by her stillborn son, Brandon Charles Berry; brother, Dennis Nickel; and brother-in-law, Nelson Berry.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, March 20, 2025 at the McPherson Free Methodist Church, 1010 S Maple, McPherson, KS 67460. Burial will follow at the Canton Township Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 19, at the Moundridge Funeral Home.
