Sandra “Sandy” M. Wedman
1947-2025

Sandra Mayree “Sandy” Wedman, 77, died January 8, 2025, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.  She was born July 12, 1947, in Hutchinson, to Keith Fredrick and Barbara Lou (Skellenger) Hobbick.

Sandy graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1965.  She worked for many years at Wells Aircraft as their parts manager. Sandy later worked for the Dillons Corporate Office Call Center, retiring in 2015.   Her hobbies included quilting, sewing, working in her vegetable garden, genealogy and preserving family photos.  Sandy was selfless and giving, always putting others above herself, and loved her family unconditionally.  She supported her grandchildren in all their endeavors, always making time to attend their events.  Sandy lived a life of faith and was a member of First Southern Baptist Church, where she volunteered for many decades on the kitchen committee.

On April 6, 2006, she married the love of her life, Daniel “Dean” Wedman, in Hutchinson.

Sandy is survived by:  her loving and devoted husband, Dean; daughter, Jamey Zuelke (Dan); grandchildren, Elizabeth Neal (Quentin), Lucas Idler (Danielle), Ashley Perkins, and Emily Hamilton (Travis); great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Addison, Axel, Phoenix, Elle, Braxton, Maddy, and Rhylan; one great-great-grandchild on the way; sisters, Lynn Montgomery (Chuck) and Kim Trent (Marc), all of Hutchinson; uncle, Robert Skellenger of Hutchinson; aunt, Edith McReynolds of Castleton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by:  her parents; sisters, Ginger Werth (Fred) and Janet Hobbick; brothers, Doug Hobbick and Mike Hobbick; maternal grandparents, George and May Skellenger; paternal grandparents, Hilda and Robert Hobbick; two nephews; and her best friend, Jennifer.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at First Southern Baptist Church, 1201 E. 23rd, Hutchinson, with Dr. Roy Jaye officiating.  Graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Fairview Cemetery, Danville, KS.  Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary.
