Pat Eugene Crowell
1938-2024
Patrick "Pat" Crowell, born May 27, 1938, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, passed away on December 31, 2024, in Winfield, Kansas.

Pat was raised in Elk County, Kansas, as one of nine siblings. His early education began in Sioux Falls, SD. before his family moved to Longton, Kansas, where he attended seventh and eighth grades. He later moved to Howard, Kansas, for his freshman year of high school and then to Watertown, South Dakota, for his sophomore year. As a junior, Pat left home to live with his older brother in Rapid City, South Dakota. At the age of 17, he joined the U.S. Navy and earned his GED while serving his country.

Throughout his life, Pat held various jobs and eventually retired after a decade of dedicated work at Boeing in Wichita, Kansas. He had a passion for coaching youth baseball and cherished watching his children participate in athletics. Pat also enjoyed spending time with his family on weekend drives, fishing trips, and playing games like dominoes and pitch.

On September 16, 1958, Pat married Sara Nell O'Dell in Miami, Oklahoma. Together they built a large and loving family with nine children. They were married 53 years until her passing in 2011.

Pat’s life was marked by resilience and devotion to his family. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.

37 grandchildren, 80 great-grandchildren, and numerous great-great-grandchildren

Pat was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Viola Crowell; his wife, Sara Crowell, and his daughters, Virginia Crowell, and Judy Andra

Reciting of the Rosary will take place at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Moline, KS on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at 9:30 AM with Mass of Christian Burial following at 10:00 AM.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Longton Recreation and can be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
