Robert H. “Bob” Kurfiss passed away at the Kansas Veterans Home in Winfield, Kansas, on Thursday, December 19th, 2024, at the age of 94.

Denise Brown, 69, passed away Dec. 23, 2024. Survived by husband of 48 years, Marc; children Alexis (Mariano Alvarado), Nathan (Tiffany), Ryan, Emily (Raquel Lizarraga), Collin & Elizabeth (Josh Friesen); & grandchildren: Mariano, Marc Owen, Lilyanna, Ellie, Penelope, Addilynn & Constantine. She is also survived by her siblings Pam (Rex Barnes), Bart (Judi Winter), Lisa (Gene Gutschenritter) & Sara (Clark Osborn), along with 23 nieces & nephews.

Victor R. Mitchell, Sr, 81, was born Nov. 29, 1943 in Lyons, KS. He married Clara (Jantz) 60 years ago on May 4, 1964. She survives along with Victor Jr., Sheldon and grandson, MacKenzie.

CHAD ARTHUR ENGEL was born July 3, 1976, to the Pope family in Atlantic, Iowa, and lovingly adopted by the Engel family on March 12, 1984. He fought his last battle with the fierce enemy, cancer, on December 21, 2024, at the age of 48.

Sammy Edward “Sam” Laymon, 68, of Sterling, Kansas, passed away December 26, 2024, at his home.

Barbara Woodward, 91, of Bronson, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024.

Richard Woodward, 92, of Bronson, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2024.

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Glenda Helton, 82, on December 17, 2024, in Iola, Kansas. Glenda departed this world surrounded by family and love, leaving behind cherished memories that will last a lifetime.

Leona Enns was born October 23, 1930 in Goessel, Kansas as the first child of Linda Penner and Abram S. Enns. Her brother Norvie was born four years later, and sister Annabeth when Leona was 16. Leona graduated from Hillsboro High School, where she participated in many musical events. She was baptized at First Mennonite Church in Hillsboro.

Allan R. Mast, 85, of Hesston, Kansas, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2024 at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. Arrangements are pending and will be announced later with a full obituary by Miller-Ott Funeral Home, Hesston.

Daniel L. “Danny” Cain, 72, died December 27, 2024, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born July 13, 1952, in Sterling, to Marvin E. and Virginia L. (Detwiler) Cain.
