1931-2024
Naomi Gregg, age 93, formerly of Princeton, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Belton Regional Medical Center in Belton, Missouri.
She was born on May 8, 1931, the second of six children and the oldest daughter to John and Leona (Bowman) Rockers in Richmond, Kansas.
Naomi's life was marked by love, dedication, and a passion for family and community. She married Robert "Sonny" Gregg on December 2, 1950, and together they raised three children-Gary, Vicki, and Trina. Their marriage was built on a strong foundation of love and shared experiences. For most of their married life, Naomi and Sonny called Lee's Summit, Missouri, home. However, in 1993, they decided to move closer to Garnett, settling outside Richmond, Kansas, where they continued to cherish time spent with friends and family.
Naomi found great joy in simple pleasures like morning walks, which were a significant part of her daily routine. While Naomi devoted much of her time to being a homemaker, she also worked at Bendix for 30 years before retiring. Throughout her life, she was known as a loving and caring lady who made family her top priority.
Social and joyful by nature, Naomi enjoyed dancing, socializing, and solving puzzles. She loved spending time with her friends, along with the weekly "Mix and Mingle" gathering, enjoying a beverage of her choice. One of her favorite places was their lake house, a special retreat built by Sonny and Naomi and their children. Every weekend, they made lasting memories, fishing and spending quality time together. Naomi's life was truly one of connection, love, and happiness.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Sonny Gregg on March 13, 2020; son, Gary Gregg; and daughter, Trina Harrison; brothers, Dale and Clifford Rockers; sisters, Donna Sue Miller and Luella Stiffler, grandson and Kale Harrison.
Naomi is survived by her daughter Vicki (Phillip) Evans of Bates City, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Matt, Alina, Sophie, Katheryn, Trevor and Sage. 18 great- grandchildren; sister, Wanda Powls; sister-in-laws, Linda Rockers, Joan Rockers, Joyce Gregg; and numerous other family and friends.
