1937-2025
MaryAnn Wright, 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. Born March 8, 1937, in Swea City, Iowa, to Henry and Bessie (Denton) Groen, MaryAnn lived a life filled with love, family, and dedicated service.
After graduating from Fairgrove High School in Fairgrove, Missouri, MaryAnn dedicated her career to caring for others as a CNA at Park Place Health and Rehab Center and Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center. Her compassionate nature and gentle spirit shone through in her work. She resided in Bonner Springs, Kansas for 30 years before making her home in Chanute, Kansas for 13 years.
On November 15, 1986, MaryAnn married James Wright in Kansas City, Kansas. Their union brought her great joy until his passing in 2006. A devoted member of Zion Lutheran Church, MaryAnn found solace and community in her faith. Family was paramount in her life, and she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones.
MaryAnn was preceded in death by her husband, James Wright; her son, Danny Ingram; her parents, Henry and Bessie Groen; her brother, Bob Groen; and her grandson, Ronald Alexander Ingram. She is survived by her sons, Ronald Ingram of Prescott, KS, Michael Ingram of Alabaster, AL, and James Ingram of Wichita, KS; and three cherished grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Countryside Funeral Home. A graveside service celebrating MaryAnn's life will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025, at 1:00 PM. The family invites all who knew and loved MaryAnn to join them in this final farewell. MaryAnn’s memory will be carried on through the love she shared and the lives she touched.
