Marjorie E. NickellHumboldt, KS

Marjorie E. Nickell, age 86, of Humboldt, Kansas, passed away March 24, 2025, at Heritage Health Care, Chanute, Kansas. Marjorie was born July 27, 1938, in Mitchell, South Dakota, to LeRoy Mincks and Helen R. (Browning) Mincks.

Marjorie attended school in South Dakota. She and Elmer Junior Nickell were married September 6, 1958, in Iola, Kansas.

Marjorie was a cook at Humboldt Elementary School for over ten years, and loved working there. Marjorie was a longtime and active member of the First Baptist Church, Humboldt. She helped with Meals on Wheels and valued her time at the Humboldt Senior Center.

Marjorie lived for her family. She took great pride in her marriage, kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. Marjorie enjoyed sports and she liked all animals, big and small.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Junior Nickell; four brothers, and six sisters.

Marjorie is survived by her children, Douglas (Roberta) Nickell, Keith (Teresa) Nickell, Aaron (Lori) Nickell, Linda (Ryan) Niemann; grandchildren, Stefani (Michael Norris) Nickell, Stephan Nickell, Sara Dietrich, Shannon Osborn, Seth Nickell, Hunter (Jodee) Nickell, Paige (Beremundo Rios Lopez) Nickell, Garrison Niemann, Nicholas Niemann; great-grandchildren, Traen, Trevor, and Tristin Kelley, Kinley and Londyn Dietrich, Tymber Shultz, Presley Schulz, Helen Nickell, Jack Nickell; brothers, Darryl (Bev) Mincks, Gary (Nancy) Mincks; and numerous relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held Monday, March 31, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in The Venue at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Highway 54, Iola, Kansas. A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at the First Baptist Church, Humboldt, Kansas. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery, Humboldt, Kansas.
