Lance Scott Jackson, age 44, born on August 5, 1980, in Omaha, Nebraska, passed away on January 7, 2025, in Hutchinson, Kansas. He was a beloved figure known for his friendly and caring nature, and his ability to inspire others through his resilience and positivity.
Lance was an avid learner and spent many hours working on his car, taking pride in its unique features such as, his personalized license plate “Oneleg” and the blue headlights that earned his car the nickname “Blue Light Special”. He was proud of his accomplishments, including obtaining the title for his car, which represented his independence and determination. His motto, “I’m grown,” reflected his self-sufficient attitude and his unyielding spirit. He cherished the simple pleasures in life, relishing homemade meals particularly okra, chili and catfish. Music was a big part of his life, with James Brown being one of his favorite artists. His evenings often included watching shows like “Blue Bloods”, “True Crime”, and “Dr. G: Medical Examiner”.
Lance had a passion for photography and dreamed of going back to school to pursue this interest. He was always eager to capture the beauty of the world around him. His love for the outdoors provided him with countless opportunities to take pictures and he found happiness anywhere he could share those moments.
A devoted supporter of football, Lance was a fan of the San Francisco 49ers, the Green Bay Packers, and the North Carolina Tarheels.
Lance’s willingness to lend a helping hand left a lasting impression on those who knew him. He demonstrated that limitations should never define one’s potential and encouraged others to pursue their goals, despite any challenges. His legacy will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
He was preceded in death by his mother Roberta Ann Jackson.
Surviving family and friends include his girlfriend, Candi Coker; his bonus daughter, Jennifer Gullette; mother figure Donna Davis; friend/brother, Dlyric Heaven.
Cremation has taken place per the families wishes.
