Kevin Karmann
1967-2024

Kevin Brian Karmann age 57 died the afternoon of December 27, 2024 at his home in rural Yates Center with his wife by his side.

Kevin was born November 8, 1967 in Iola, Kansas to Cline and Delores (Curran) Karmann. Kevin graduated Yates Center High School in 1986. Kevin married the love of his life, Carol Matile on December 6, 1986 at the First Baptist Church in Yates Center. Kevin and Carol built
their home northeast of Yates Center. When the tornado struck their home May 2003, Kevin and Carol rebuilt their home with their children Emily, Kelly and Brian by their side.

Kevin was a lifelong farmer in Woodson County. Kevin devoted many years of his life to the citizens of Woodson County by volunteering as a fireman for the Woodson County Rural Fire Department. Kevin always had a funny story to share. One of them was the time he rattled the
glass on the Light Hardware Building racing around the square one night. Another one is when Kevin, Carol and Rodney Ryther took a trip to Louisiana when “old whitie” was new. Kevin and his friend Charlie Davis might have ran from the law a time or two back in their younger fearless
days. Kevin always enjoyed wild coon hunting trips with Donald Jacobs.

Kevin is preceded in death by his parents Cline and Delores, by his in-laws Jearold and Emma Lou Matile, Aunt Terry Karmann, Cousin Shane Karmann and Nephews Josh and Jacob Smith.

Kevin is survived by his wife of 38 years Carol Karmann of the home. Children Emily Karmann and significant other Kevin Burkholder of Humboldt, KS; Kelly and her husband Vinny Baker of Yates Center; Brian Karmann of Yates Center. Siblings Danny and his wife Donneta Karmann of Yates Center, Denise and her husband Robert Smith Jr. of rural Yates Center, Lori and her husband Dennis Fink of Fruita, CO. Brother in law Randy Matile and wife Jamie of rural Yates Center. One Uncle Keith Karmann of rural Yates Center. Kevin is also survived by many nieces and nephews, friends and who loved him dearly.

The service to celebrate Kevin’s life will be at 10:00 A.M. January 2, 2025 at Town Hall 201 South Main Street Yates Center, with graveside service to follow at the Yates Center Cemetery.

Family requested memorial donations be made to Friends for Life and Woodson County Rural Fire Department.
