Julia Marie Bland, 72, died December 24, 2024, at her home in Hutchinson. She was born February 17, 1952, in Wichita, to Charles Robert and Frances Arlyne (Raumaker) Bland.
In 1970, Julia graduated from Nickerson High School and in 1997 from Hutchinson Community College, earning her associate degree. Julia worked at Lowen Corporation for more than 20 years, retiring in 2019.
Julia was a passionate painter and artist. She was a Star Trek fan and enjoyed B rated horror films, even if her family said they were “bad” movies. Julia had a never-ending desire for knowledge and an unmatched love for all animals. Above all, her most favorite thing Julia enjoyed was spending time with her grandchildren.
Julia is survived by: her daughter, Krystle (John) Tipton; sons, Trenton Bland and Matthew (Kiera) Bland; and 8 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Pat.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at 1 p.m. Friday, January 17, 2025, at Elliott Chapel. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date. Friends may sign her memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
