1944-2024
Gary was a lifelong farmer and rancher with a great love for his cattle and sheep. He was a tremendously hard worker but he also knew the importance of family. Gary’s family was his ultimate source of joy and love.
On November 20, 1966, he married the love of his life, Lana Snay. They shared 58 beautiful years together before his death.
Gary is survived by: beloved wife, Lana Foster of Abbyville; children, Tonya (David) Roper of Abbyville, Sean (Jenny) Foster of Nickerson, and Daniel (Brynn) Foster of Haven; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Levi (Rebekah) Roper and children, Elise, Justice, and Lyric, Seth (Raychel) Roper, Gabriel Roper, Caleb (Hannah) Roper and children, Garrick and Bennett, Faith Roper, Noah Roper, Mercy (Tim) Thornton, Elijah Roper, Felicity Roper, Autumn Roper, Summer Roper, Jude Roper, Hadassah Foster, Ezekiel Foster, Jedidiah Foster, Keziah Foster, Salome Foster, Hosanna Foster, Eden Foster, Grace (Peter) Skiles and children Rory, Finnegan, and Sunny, Emma Foster, Isaiah Foster, Stuart Foster; sister, Pamela (Robert) Harber of Whitewater; brother, Scott (Judi) Foster of Abbyville; sisters-in-law, Karen Snay of Nickerson and Norva Snay of Hutchinson; and brother-in-law, Ali Halabi of Eldorado.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; grandsons, Josiah Roper and Jeremiah Foster; sister, Patricia Halabi; and precious angel grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were there to greet their grandfather.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Hutchinson Gospel Chapel, 2005 Hendricks St. Hutchinson. Interment will follow at Abbyville Cemetery. Friends may sign his book Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
