1943-2024
Feona Rosalie Dewey 81, passed away peacefully at home in Petrolia, KS, surrounded by family on January 7, 2025.
Feona was born on May 1, 1943, to Lester and Gertie (King) Wilhite in Humboldt, KS. Some of her fondest childhood memories were made traveling with her family in the summer while her father worked the pipeline. She graduated from Humboldt High School in 1961. During this time, she also met her husband, Wesley Dewey. They were united in marriage on October 25, 1961, at the Assembly of God Church in Humboldt. They were married for 56 years, until his death in 2017.
Together she and Wes raised seven children. While primarily a homemaker, Feona also worked as a bookkeeper for her and Wes’ businesses. Feona devoted much of her time to leading scout troops, chaperoning field trips, and showing her support at sporting and music events. She also had many hobbies. She was a voracious reader, had a passion for writing, and never passed up an opportunity to add to her large rock collection. She also found joy in playing video games with the kids and making snacks for her children and grandchildren.
