Jetmore - Mom left on her last adventure the evening of March 19th blizzard.
Doris Aileen Denton, died March 19, 2025 at Down’s Rehab and Nursing Home.
She married Cecil Duaine Denton February 7, 1953 in Cimarron, KS. He passed August 2, 2013. They were married 60 years.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Jetmore and attended the Lighthouse Church in Cawker City until her health didn’t allow for her to go. She enjoyed her services on tv.
Born July 14th, 1934 to George and Cleo Phillips. Doris and Cleo shared the same birthday July 14th. Doris was a homemaker most of her life. She enjoyed gardening and canning the produce from it for many years. She shared this talent with her family. Her green thumb could be seen at work in her glorious flower beds. She owned and operated 7D Duds, clothing store in Jetmore for several years. She also, worked at the Jet Stop and as a CNA/CMA at the Jetmore Nursing Home. After Duaine retired, they moved to Cawker City.
Survivors; a son, Danny (Holly) Denton, Jetmore; daughters, Debbie Allen, (Phil), Dodge City; Deanna (Kevin) Sherrill, Jetmore; Danetta Gochanour (Joel), Cawker City; sisters, Patty Lampe, Dodge City, Nita (Max) Davidson, Cimarron; eleven grandchildren, twenty great, grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren.
Predeceased in death by; her parents, George and Cleo Phillips; sister, Lois McVey; brother-in-law Darlow Lampe; mother-in-law- Wilma (Gertie)Getrude Denton; daughter, Donna Schlereth and a granddaughter, Janelle Allen.
Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore, with Pastor Mark Durham presiding.
