David Lee Stewart, 79, passed away December 27, 2024, at Azria Health in Great Bend, Kansas. He was born June 21, 1945, in Mooreland, Oklahoma to Charles & Naomi (Teeters) Stewart.
David moved to Larned, with his family at 8 years old. He worked for Larned State Hospital as a janitor for many years. In recent years, he made Great Bend his home. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed riding on the open road. He enjoyed the outdoors and put his knowledge of nature by leading Boy Scouts of America. He was a proud member of BSA Order of the Arrow. He loved to camp and go canoeing. He was an avid gun collector and a member of the NRA.
Survivors include son, Dallas Stewart and his wife Radonna of Great Bend; daughters: Sandra Feldman and her husband Duane of Great Bend, Jennifer Umiker and her husband Henry of Great Bend, Nancy Loeb and her husband Shane of Bismarck, N Dak.; sisters, Linda Childers and her husband Gene of Topeka, Shirley Shaw of Dallas, Tex.; grandchildren, Kristin Burke, Brandt Stewart, Karah Roach, Katlyn Feldman, Erin Feldman, Caleb Romo, Caley Umiker, Jessica Umiker, James Umiker, Lydia Kazmaier, Leigha Kazmaier, Adrianna Kazmaier; great grandchildren, Ayven Stewart, Emma Stewart, Lyric Romo, Clint Stewart, and one to arrive June 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Clint Stewart, twin infant brothers, Leslie Stewart and Wesley Stewart; sister, Charlene Smith and her husband Dr. Terry Smith; brother-in-law, Merle Shaw.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 30, 2024, at Bryant Funeral Home with Chaplain Guy Hannah and Reverend Robert Selva Kumar presiding. Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at Fargo Cemetery, Fargo, Okla. Visitation is from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, December 29, 2024, at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials have been designated to Wetlands Education Center, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Road, Great Bend, KS 67530.
