1955-2025
Cheryl Elaine “White” Pack, 69, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2025, at 4:15 p.m. Born on December 27, 1955, in Elk City, Oklahoma, to Ralph White and Helen “Juanita” Loveall, Cheryl is preceded in death by both of her parents.
From an early age, Cheryl demonstrated the resilience and work ethic that would guide her throughout her life. Nicknamed “Little Cotton Top,” she began working in the cotton fields as a young girl, picking cotton by hand. After graduating from high school in 1974 as Valedictorian—with perfect attendance for all 12 years—she moved to Jetmore, Kansas, in 1976.
Cheryl went on to work at Hodgeman County Health Center, first as a lab technician. After a short hiatus, she returned as a laundry attendant, a role she faithfully held for 38 years until her retirement in February 2022.
On September 15, 1979, after several proposals, Cheryl married the love of her life, Richard Allen Pack. Together, they recently celebrated 45 years of marriage in 2024. Their greatest anniversary gift arrived on September 14, 1983, when they welcomed their daughter, Shanna Richelle Pack (now Copeland), into the world.
Cheryl’s life was filled with the simple pleasures that meant the most to her: spending time with her cherished granddaughter, Alena, and doting on her beloved grand pup, Addie Belle. She found joy in attending musicals, crafting, watching for cardinals, and sewing, activities that showcased her creativity, love for life and was devoted to helping others.
A member of the First Baptist Church, Cheryl is survived by her devoted husband, Richard Pack in Jetmore; her loving daughter, Shanna (and husband Allen Copeland) in Dodge City; and her treasured granddaughter, Alena in Dodge City. Her enduring warmth, unwavering work ethic, and heartfelt devotion to her family will forever live on in the memories of all who knew and loved her.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore, with Pastor Heath Ormord presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 28, 2025, with family present from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Beckwith Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Grandchild Education Fund (Alena Copeland) in care of Beckwith Funeral Home, Box 663 Jetmore, KS 67854.
