Bruce E. Owens, 85, of McPherson, KS, peacefully passed away in his sleep on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at his home in McPherson.

Bruce was born March 12, 1939, in Speed, KS, the son of Harry E. and Katherine A. (Hiekes) Owens. He grew up and attended early school in Speed and later finished school in Phillipsburg, KS, graduating in 1957. On December 22, 1979, Bruce was united in marriage to Linda Katherine Goepferich at the First United Methodist Church in McPherson.

Bruce worked for 43 years at Farmland Industries as a Warehouse & Terminal Manager, retiring on April 1, 2001. He was also a licensed agent for Ellene McKean & Associates.

He was a Korean War veteran, drafted into the United States Army, serving from 1961 to 1963. Bruce had 50 plus year memberships with the McPherson Masonic Lodge #173 A.F. & A.M., Salina Scottish Rite, and Isis Shrine.

Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Linda of the home; step-son, Jason Christiansen of McPherson, KS; three grandchildren, Jaylea Christiansen of McPherson, KS, Tayten Christiansen of Wichita, KS, and Lucien Christiansen of McPherson, KS; a great-grandson, Jaxson Christiansen; a niece, Erica Owens of Kiowa, OK; a great-nephew, Garic Owens Hansen of Settle, WA; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Keith E. Owens.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Monday, December 30, 2024, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. The funeral service with Military Honors will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, December 31, at Revolution Church with Pastor David Case officiating.
