1957-2025
Brad Lee Shogren, 67, of Lindsborg, KS, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2025. He was a farmer and stockman.
He was born January 17, 1957, in Lindsborg, KS, the son of Harlan “Har” L. and Jeanette M. (Anderson) Shogren. Brad graduated from Lindsborg High School, attended two years at Butler County Community College, and graduated from Bethany College, Lindsborg. On October 27, 1979, he was united in marriage to Sara Louise Carlson at the Messiah Lutheran Church, Lindsborg. This union was blessed with two children, Katie and Tracy.
Brad was a member of and served on the board for the Freemount Lutheran Church, Lindsborg. He was also a member of the Kansas Association of Conservation Districts, McPherson County Conservation District, McPherson County Farm Bureau, Kansas Soybean Association, and the Lower Smoky Valley Irrigation District. He was also a volunteer firefighter for the Lindsborg Fire Department.
Survivors include his loving wife, Sara of the home; children, Katie (Seth) Greenwood of El Dorado, KS and Tracy (Cathy) Shogren of McPherson, KS; mother, Jeanette Shogren of Lindsborg, KS; siblings, Kristin (David) Burki of Overland Park, KS, Ron (Angie) Shogren of Lindsborg, KS, Bruce (Velvet) Shogren of Wichita, KS, and Brent Shogren of Winfield, KS; seven grandchildren, Reese (Dylan) Gugelmeyer, Mesa Greenwood, Colbie Shogren, Kal Greenwood, Caleb Shogren, Clara Greenwood, and Aspen Greenwood; great-granddaughter, Willow Gugelmeyer; brothers-in-law, Brad (Helen) Carlson of Greencastle, PA and Andy (Kelly) Carlson of Lindsborg, KS; and many more extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harlan Shogren, and parents-in-law, Bill & Doris Carlson.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Freemount Lutheran Church, 2511 8th Avenue, Lindsborg, KS 67456. Following the service, the family will greet friends in the fellowship hall at the church.
