Betty Ann Popp
1944-2025

Betty passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at her home in Hutchinson, Kansas. Betty was born December 22, 1944 to George and Olga “Jody” (Bariga) Barker in Alta Dena, California.

She married James Willis on October 15, 1960 in Los Angeles, California and had 3 children, Debra, Jim, and Jay.

She married Robert Popp on October 26, 2013 in Hutchinson, KS.

Betty was involved with horses in California at an early age and continued to enjoy this activity with her children.  Betty also loved camping and water skiing. She was an accomplished artist, mostly drawing.

Betty was a beautician for many years.  She went back to school to become a Psychiatric technician.  She worked in several places in California, Wichita and Hutchinson, KS. She spent her retirement days enjoying their dogs, camping and raising chickens with her husband, Robert.

Survivors include her husband, daughter; Debra (Steve) Rippie, sons; Jim (Lisa) Willis and Jay (Erika) Willis, Grandchildren; Margaret Buchanan, Stephanie Johnson, Jennifer Vogts, Erica (Kevin) Rose, Crystal (Kyle) Carothers, Ryan (Megan) Willis, Rachel Willis, Aubrey Willis, Julian Madrid, Chloe Willis, Joshua Willis, Jonathon Willis, 22 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchildren..

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers; Bill and Bob Barker, and a grandchild; Rebecca Ashton.

Cremation has taken place. No services are planned at this time.

Memorials may be made out to Reno County Hospice in care of Hutchinson Funeral Chapel.
