MMS Girls Wrestlers Set the Tone in Clearwater

CLEARWATER, Kan. – The McPherson Middle School Girls Wrestling Team competed in their 2nd meet of the season on Tuesday, competing against Clearwater, Haysville, and Ark City.

Following the matches, Head Coach Matt McCasland noted, “The girls had a great first meet in Newton last week, and I think it gave them a lot of confidence coming into tonight’s matches. We got some jitters out of the way last week. Tonight they just stepped on the mat and took care of business.” The Varsity went 12-1, and the JV finished 3-5, combining for a score of 15-6.

McCasland added, “Our team continued to set the tone physically. We preach being the aggressor in every match, and our wrestlers have absolutely followed through.” He concluded by saying, “We have plenty to work on, but our staff is really excited about this group and how high their ceiling could be.”
