The 12U Red McPherson Baseball Association took first place over the weekend scoring eight-straight runs against Clay Center after trailing 4-0 in the first to win the Central Kansas Jamboree 8-4.
McPherson opened the tournament with a 15-4 win against Clay Center, then faced the Wichita Areos, where they would tie 9-9. They would face the Areos in a rematch, for a chance in the championship, where they would win 10-1. Coach Bryan Weiser mentioned how proud the boys played all weekend, especially in that championship game, adding, “Great team win!”
They will look forward to improving in their upcoming tournaments throughout the spring and summer.
