McPHERSON COUNTY, Kan. — The McPherson County Republican Committee will hold a nominating convention Monday, Jan. 6 at 7 p.m. at the McPherson County Building at 122 West Marlin.
This convention is to fill the Second District County Commission seat Dave Bohnenblust was elected to in November but is declining to become McPherson County Public Works Director effective Feb. 1. The person nominated and later appointed by the Governor will serve until after the 2026 general election when the final two years of the term will be on the ballot.
The Second Commission District includes Canton, McPherson, Meridian and Spring Valley Townships, the city of Canton, and Ward 1 in the city of McPherson, which is the area east of Main Street and north of Kansas Avenue.
