McPHERSON COUNTY, Kan. — McPherson County Commissioners Monday approved the final plat for the River Trail Farms subdivision south of Lindsborg. The five-lot subdivision is located at the southwest corner of 14th Avenue and Smoky Valley Road, and owner Mark Lott said at Planning Commission hearings in July the intent is for the lots to be used by family members. This project has been in the works for several years. In September, the Planning Commission recommended approval of the final plat.

The Commission approved the annexation to the city of Moundridge of property owned by Tortilla King, which has petitioned for the annexation in connection with a business expansion. Commissioners were required to make certain findings in order to allow the annexation to move forward.

A contract with Foster Design Associations of Wichita was approved for an update of McPherson County’s Comprehensive Plan, which will be done in 2025. The contract is for a price not to exceed $27,500. This will update an existing 20-year plan that is coming to an end and cover the next 20 years. The Foster firm has long worked with the county and the City of McPherson on planning and zoning matters.

Commissioners also approved quit claim deeds for four lots at the county-owned Crestwood Cemetery north of McPherson, and an end of introductory period raise for an employee in the Public Works Department.
