Fire Station 2 Opening Delayed for Piping Replacement

McPHERSON, Kan. — The opening of McPherson’s new Fire Station 2 will be delayed in order to re-install tubing for the snow melt system at the station on North Main.

The McPherson Fire Department said in a release late Friday afternoon this tubing is under the concrete in front of the Apparatus bay overhead doors on both sides of the building.

The contractors who are making the repairs have all needed material on hand, and expect to start removal of concrete this week so piping can be replaced and concrete re-poured.

The Fire Department pointed out in their release the city will not incur any additional costs to make these repairs.
