The Kansas Department of Transportation has announced award of bids for state highway projects from their November bid letting, including a large mill and overlay project including portions of three highways in Ellsworth, McPherson and Saline counties.
Venture Corporation of Great Bend was awarded five separate contracts totaling $7.68 million. The contracts involve K-4 from the Ellsworth-Rice County line to the I-135 interchange in Saline County except the part of the highway in the city of Lindsborg; K-14 from the K-140 Junction north to I-70 in Ellsworth County; and K-111 from K-156 to Kanopolis.
Another area project in the area from the November letting, for guard fence on two locations along US 56 west of Lyons, was awarded to L&M Contractors of Great Bend for just over $568,000.
The letting also included a project which is partly in Ellis County. Bettis Asphalt and Construction of Topeka was awarded a mill and overlay project on US 183 starting at the end of the concrete pavement on the north edge of Hays north into Rooks County. The overall 26-mile project has a just over $5.8 million price tag.
