ALLEN COUNTY, Kan. — The Allen County Multi-Agency Team (ACMAT) coalition and Humanity House have announced the new date for the Rethink Poverty Community Action Poverty Simulation event, which will now be taking place Tuesday, April 23, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Iola Recreation Center, 500 Park Avenue, Iola, Kan.
During the event, individuals and families will be given a scenario to navigate community resources to provide for basic necessities and shelter over four 15-minute periods.
The experience is meant to help participants understand the challenges faced by low-income families trying to survive month to month.
