KDOT Announces Award Bids for State Highway Projects, Including Ellsworth, McPherson, Saline County

The Kansas Department of Transportation has announced award of bids for state highway projects from their November bid letting, including a large mill and overlay project including portions of three highways in Ellsworth, McPherson and Saline counties.

Venture Corporation of Great Bend was awarded five separate contracts totaling $7.68 million. The contracts involve K-4 from the Ellsworth-Rice County line to the I-135 interchange in Saline County except the part of the highway in the city of Lindsborg; K-14 from the K-140 Junction north to I-70 in Ellsworth County; and K-111 from K-156 to Kanopolis.

The other project awarded in the area from the November letting for guard fences on two locations along US 56 west of Lyons, awarded to L&M Contractors of Great Bend for just over $568,000.

Bids awards were also announced from the October letting including overlay projects on US 50 and US 77 in Marion County to Bettis Asphalt and Construction of Topeka, and an overlay project on US 50 from the I-135 east junction to the Harvey-Marion county line to APAC Kansas of Hutchinson.
