Hutchinson Fire Department Responds to Wednesday Evening Attic Fire

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson Fire Department responded to the 300 block of West 16th for a structure fire Wednesday evening. Crews arrived to find a small fire working through the attic space of a single-story home.

According to Division Chief of Operations Jeremy Unruh, crews arrived to find a small fire working through the attic space of a single-story home and were able to enter with no issues, extinguishing the fire.

The occupants of the home were alerted of the fire by their smoke detectors. No one was injured and damage was contained to the attic and ceiling of the home.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Reno County EMS, Reno County Emergency Communications, Red Cross, and the Hutchinson Police Department also responded to the call.
