McPHERSON, Kan. (MacBulldogs.com) — For the fans of offense, this game was an absolute must-watch. The Bulldogs and the Sterling College Warriors traded goals throughout the contest, but MC was able to get more stops and won the contest 7-4 on Wednesday (Oct 2).

McPherson came right out of the gates swinging for the fences as Lauren MachadoCaitlin Buendia, and Allyson Harrison rattled off the first three goals of the contest in the 4th, 7th, and 15th minute. Sterling began to chip away at the quick 3-0 deficit they were faced with thanks to a Jessica Gautreau goal in the 19th minute followed by a Emma Bartha goal to make it a 3-2 game at the half.

Machado would score her second goal of the year and of the contest in the 48th minute followed by Buendia scoring her sixth goal of the season and her second of the game in the 49th minute to make it a 5-2 lead for the Bulldogs.

Bartha once again knocked in a goal to cut the lead to 5-3, but MC answered right back as Andrea Salas and Courtney Ward once again pushed the lead out to 7-3. Kyndall Edwards scored a late goal for the Warriors, but it was not enough to change the final result. The seven goals by the Bulldogs mark the highest total goals since August 18 2023 when MC defeated Central Christian College, 7-1.

McPherson returns to the field on Saturday, October 5 for a road matchup against Friends University.
