McPHERSON, Kan. (MacBulldogs.com) — The McPherson College Bulldogs and the Avila University Eagles battled to a 1-1 draw on Saturday (Sep. 21) at McPherson Stadium, home of Paul Family Field.
Caitlin Buendia gave the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead in the 18th minute with her team-leading fifth goal of the season, scoring on a free kick from 22-yards out past a diving Kenan Ebel.
That score would hold until less than two minutes into the second half when Samantha Mendez found Cali Lasater who buried it to knot the score at 1-1.
The Eagles had five shots on goal in the second frame, but Elizabeth Scheuerman made four saves to salvage the draw.
MC is back in action on Wednesday (Sep. 25) when they travel to Salina, Kan. to take on Kansas Wesleyan University. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
