LINDSBORG, Kan. (BethanySwedes.com) – The Bethany College Swedes hosted the Tabor College Bluejays, Wednesday, January 8th in Hahn Gymnasium on Host Families Recognition Night. The Bluejays came into the contest already have played their first game in 2025 and a conference record of 6-2. The Swedes, however, had to reschedule their first game back and came into the night with a conference record of 5-2.
Bethany quickly took the lead in the first quarter with the Bluejays close behind which became the story of the night as both teams would go on scoring runs and forcing the other team to adjust quickly or fall behind. The Swedes went into halftime with a four-point advantage over Tabor, 26-22, but it wouldn’t hold up as the Bluejays came back at the end of the 4th quarter, taking the game into overtime, 54-54. Bethany came out hot in the start of the extra period which gave them the edge as time ran down. Swedes ended the game, 66-61, for the win.
Notable stats include, Jaden Newfarmer with a double-double, 17 points and 17 rebounds along with 2 blocks, Celina Eisenhardt with 11 points, and Emily Green with 6 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals.
