BOX SCORE

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (BethanySwedes.com) – The Bethany College Swedes were on the road at Evangel University taking on the 6-3 Valor, and looking to add to their win column after their overtime win against the Tabor Bluejays earlier in the week. Unfortunately, the Swedes wouldn’t be able to contain the Valor and would walk away with a loss.

Bethany took the lead in the first quarter against Evangel and gained a small advantage as they went into the second quarter. The Valor would outscore the Swedes who had their worst shooting percentage of the game at 20% from field goal range, 12-19. As both teams went into halftime, the Valor was ahead by four, 29-33. Coming out of the break, the Swedes went to work to take back the momentum but Evangel would hold on and outscore Bethany once again. The Swedes were down by nine as they went into the fourth and final quarter, 50-59. Bethany would make a solid effort in the 4th quarter but the deficient was too great to overcome in the end. The final score was 76-83 in favor of the Valor.

Notable stats include, Jaden Newfarmer with her second double-double of the week, 16 points and 11 rebounds along with 2 steals, Janae Black-Harmon with 14 points and 8 rebounds, and Colbi Rignell with 4 assists, and 3 steals.
