Women’s Basketball Bulldogs Fall to Evangel

McPHERSON, Kan. (MacBulldogs.com) — The McPherson College Bulldogs dropped their fourth straight game Wednesday (Feb. 7), falling 77-49 to the Evangel University Valor inside the Sport Center.

Turnovers plagued the Bulldogs from the opening tip, falling behind 22-7 after the first quarter due in part to 11 first-quarter giveaways. The Valor ballooned their lead to 54-23 at half time.

Matisyn Moses led the Bulldogs with 14 points, seven rebounds, and a pair of steals. Joze’ Baker added 12 points, and two steals. Raeghan Bormanmatched her career-high with three takeaways.

The Valor shot 61.1 percent in the second quarter, and were 6-for-7 from beyond the arc. Evangel finished the game shooting 34.9 percent, and were 6-for-22 from distance.

Carson Dillard paced the Valor with 16 points, all of which came in the second frame. Jazzy Kirby added 10 points. Lexi Berry finished with five assists, while Lydia Babirye pulled down 12 rebounds.

The Bulldogs are back in action on Saturday (Feb. 10) for Breast Cancer Awareness night when they take on Bethany College. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
