Women’s Basketball Bulldogs Drop KCAC Matchup to Friends

McPHERSON, Kan. (MacBulldogs.com) — The Friends University Falcons shot 43.4 percent from the field Wednesday (Jan. 31) knock off the McPherson College Bulldogs 85-58 inside the Sport Center.

Madelyn Hankins paced the Bulldogs with 16 points, while Joze’ Baker added 14 points and five rebounds off the bench. Matisyn Moses finished with 11 points four rebounds, a steal, and a block.

The Bulldogs were held to just 27 percent shooting from the field, and were just 5-for-24 from beyond the arc. MC finished with 15 offensive rebounds, but had just 17 second chance points.

It was all Falcons from the tip, quickly grabbing a 15-4 lead less than five minutes into the first quarter. Friends led 25-15 after the first ten minutes, before extending their advantage to 41-27 at the break.

The Falcons pushed their lead to 50-27 early in the third quarter.

Rayland Garner led the Falcons in scoring with 24 points, while Trinity Johnson added 15 points, and Lauryn McIver scored 12 points and ten rebounds.

The Bulldogs are back in action Saturday (Feb. 3), traveling to Salina, Kan., to take on Kansas Wesleyan. Tipoff is slated for 5:00 p.m.
