McPHERSON, Kan. (CCCTigers.com) – The Tigers drop a pair of Matches to Oklahoma Panhandle and Wayland in a 2 game home stand Friday night and Saturday afternoon at the Jerry E. Alexander Arena.
Match 1: Oklahoma Panhandle 3-Central Christian 0 (25-19, 25-10, 25-18)
Set 1: A see saw between the 2 teams before a 5-0 run made the score 13-8. The Tigers battled back to tie the score 19-19, before the Aggies finished the set on a 6-0 run to take the set 25-19.
Set 2: The Aggies jumped out to a quick 7-1 start and did not look back as they took the set 25-10.
Set 3: The Tigers were able to strike 1st, with and Amada Dotter kill, and after a pair of Sydnie Jones Kills, the tigers were able to lead 7-5. Strings of back and forth led to an 11-11 tie, before the Aggies rolled out runs of 5-0 and 6-0, before the Tigers battled back with a 4-0 run of their own with Dotter and Jones kills, but the Aggies were too much as they took the set 25-18, and the Match 3-0.

Match 2: Wayland Baptist 3-Central Christian 0 (27-25, 25-19, 25-17)
Set 1: One of the more entertaining matches of the season, we saw 9 lead changes and 16 ties, the Tigers had their chances. They led 24-22, and were 1st to 25, but the Pioneers were able to score 5 of the final 6 points of the set to take it 27-25. Syndie Jones and Amanda Dotter were able to get 5 kills each.
Set 2: Despite taking a tough loss in Set 1, the Tigers came out strong, and were within a point 13-14, before the Pioneers went on a 7-0 run to extend their lead to 21-13. A kill by Dotter stopped the run, and started a 3-0 run to bring it to 21-16. Teams played back and forth until the Pioneers took the Set 25-19.
Set 3: The Tigers were able to strike 1st with a Dotter kill, and the Pioneers were able to respond to take the lead 4-3. 2 Dotter Kills gave the Tigers a 5-4 lead, before a 4-0 Pioneer run. After a Nattelynn Burns Service ace and a Kill by Kaya Kelly-Craigs, the Tigers took a 12-11 lead. From there, the Pioneers were able to rattle off 8 of the next 10 points, and cruised from there to take the Set 25-17, and the Match 3 Sets to 0.
