McPherson, Kan. (CCCTigers.com) – The annual Turning Tiger tradition at Central found itself at the Women’s Soccer opening night creating a raucous environment. Over 500 fans packed the house to see a new and improved Women’s Soccer product take the field in a dominating 3-0 win over Bethany College Monday Night. The Tigers move to 2-0 on the season.
Ball Possession was the name of the game for the tigers as they played most of the game on their half of the field allowing only 2 total shots on goal.
Baylee Smith had one of her best games as a Tiger scoring 2 goals, scoring a huge goal right before the half a 42:33, assisted by Amaya Chaffee and the 2nd goal was a dynamic corner kick into goal at 52:06. Stephanie Zazueta scored a big insurance goal at 60:49 to finalize the scoring. Katelyn Beckman had the lone save from goal for Central.
“We did a great job in ball possession, and not rushing things. We played our game, which was great to see.” said an excited Coach Macharia.
Next game: The Tigers (2-0) will take on Sterling College (0-0) at Home Wednesday Night at 7:30pm.
