KANSAS CITY, Mo. (CCCTigers.com) – The Women’s Soccer team raised their record to 4-3 and jumped over the .500 mark on the season heading into conference play, with a 4-0 win over Spurgeon College on a hot Thursday afternoon.
Baylee Smith led the Tigers with an outstanding game where she scored a goal and an assist. Also in on the scoring was Amaya Chaffee, Racquel John, and Avery Lemons. The game played in Kansas City, was a hot one with some heat delays, but the Tigers who have been dealing with some injuries, were able to fight through that heat and get some great momentum heading into conference play. Celena Vanhaezebrouck was outstanding at goal with her 2nd consecutive shutout.
“The women played very well under some tough conditions. This is a huge boost heading into conference play,” Shared an excited Coach Josh Macharia following the Tigers 2nd win in a row.
The 4-3 Tigers open SAC action against Oklahoma Panhandle State (1-4) at Home next Saturday, September 28th at 5:30pm. The Game can be seen on the SAC Network.
