FORT WORTH, Tex. (CCCTigers.com) – The Central Christian College Tiger Men opened up their 2025 on the road at Texas Wesleyan and USAO this past weekend. The Tigers looked to bounce back after ending 2024 on a four game losing streak.
First against the Texas Wesleyan Rams, the Tigers kept it close the entire first half and found themselves up by as much as 12 at one point. The Rams responded quickly and were up 46-37 at the halftime break.
Coming out of halftime, the Rams extended their lead to as much as 14 before the Tigers cut the Rams lead to just 4 with 12 minutes to go in the game. After battling back and forth, the Rams were up 2 with a minute to play when Malachi Farr stole the ball and was fouled and sent to the line for two free throws. He made both of them to tie the game at 81-81.
After last second misses by both teams, the game was sent into overtime.
The Rams jumped out to an early lead but the Tigers responded with two clutch free throws to send the game to a second overtime. The Rams went 7-9 from the field in the second overtime and would take the game 105-100.
