WICHITA, Kan. (TaborBluejays.com) – Neve Mulrooney might only be a freshman on the pitch, but the Luton, England native is etching her name in the history books early.
The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) has announced their KCAC Women’s Soccer Players of the Week. Neve Mulrooney earned her first KCAC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week laurels coming off the heels of her excellent performance at No. 25 Hastings on Saturday.
“Neve has been a great addition to our team this year”, reflected Head Coach Thomas Gaskell. “Coming from England and adapting to the college game isn’t easy but she’s taken to it like a duck to water, aking important saves in every game.”
Mulrooney recorded 10 spectacular saves between the pipes throughout the match, frustrating the Broncos and recording the second clean sheet of her college career, leading the Lady Bluejays to their first positive result over an NAIA Top 25 ranked team in program history.
“Saturday was her best yet, making several top-level saves to keep the scores level. We’re just excited to watch her keep getting better!”
Mulrooney and the Lady Bluejays return to the pitch Wednesday as they open conference play at McPherson. The match is scheduled for a 5pm kickoff and will be broadcast live on the KCAC Network and live stats are available here.
