HAYS, Kan. (bethanyswedes.com) – The Swedes finished up the regular season and are getting ready for the KCAC conference championships next week hosted by Tabor College.

“We rounded out the regular season with a great competition at Fort Hays State University for the Alex Francis Classic,” said Head Coach Aaron Yoder. “We were pleased with how we performed going into the post season. There was much improvement and the events we didn’t hit personal records in, we were very close. Coming off our recovery week, we will be feeling fresh and sharp next week for the two day championships meet.”

Overall, the Swedes had 22 personal bests, 6 event finalists and 3 top-3 finishes. Also, noteworthy are several performances getting very close to the national qualifying marks. Cameron Gordon was .1 second from qualifying in the 100m and .4 seconds from the 200m standard. Enoch Ojo was .8 seconds from the standard in the 400m which was good for his lifetime best. Also, several Swede athletes had heat wins or flight wins.
