LINDSBORG, Kan. (SCWarriors.com) – The Lady Warriors faced the Bethany Swedes with kickoff starting at 5 pm. This being the season’s first conference game, the Warriors had to come out with a win. Not only did the Warriors take the victory over the Swedes, but for Keeper Dixie Morgan, it was a clean sheet.

Sterling was fighting hard for their win over Bethany. Keeper, Dixie Morgan, had a perfect game as she saved both shots taken at the goal. They took shot after shot against Mackenzie Nutter of Bethany, as she was a tough goalie to get through. Eventually, Jessica Gautreau had the electrifying winning goal of the night during the second period assisted by Emorie Sautter and Emma Bartha, creating an end score of 1-0; a Warrior win.

Gautreau had 5 shots on goal for the night, giving her a shooting percentage of 20% against Nutter. A team shooting percentage from the game of 11.1% for Sterling. Bethany had a shooting percentage of 0% not being able to complete either shot attempt.

This was a big win for the Warriors, as it puts them at 1-0 in conference. They will face off with Saint Mary on Sept. 21 at 1 pm in Sterling. They look to continue to climb up the ladder in conference play.
