McPHERSON, Kan. (SCWarriors.com) – The Lady Warriors continued KCAC play Wednesday night and took on the McPherson Bulldogs on the road.

At the start of the first half, the Bulldogs came out ready to shoot as they scored 3 goals within the first 15 minutes of the game against Dixie Morgan. A shift in momentum happened when Jessica Gautreau scored the Warriors’ first goal, assisted by Francesca Villa.

Thanks to the momentum switch, Emma Bartha, assisted by Brooklyn Ellis, scored their second goal of the match, bringing the score to 2-3 as the first half came to a close. As the second half began, the Bulldogs regained their momentum as they scored two more goals in the first five minutes. Bartha had an answer moments later as she scored her second goal of the match, this time the pass came from Gautreau. For Bartha, these are the first two goals not from penalty kick in her SC career. McPherson scored two more goals to take a 7-3 lead with under 20 minutes to play. Sterling’s Kyndall Edwards added a goal late to make the final tally 7-4.

Sterling is now 3-6 (1-4) this season, with a tough task ahead. The Warriors take on the #9 Oklahoma Wesleyan University Eagles in Bartlesville on Saturday.
