HUTCHINSON, Kan. – Hutchinson Community College freshman guard Kiki Smith was named the Jayhawk Conference Division I women’s basketball Player of the Week on Tuesday after a stellar week that led to three victories.
The Blue Dragons (5-0) earned decisive wins over Neosho County, Labette and Redlands last week.
Smith averaged in three games 21.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists.
The freshman from Topeka had a season-high nine rebounds in a 19-point performance against Neosho County.
Against Labette, a game where Hutchinson posted the ninth-largest margin of victory in team history, Smith had 16 points, six assists and five steals.
She then scored a season’s best 28 points on 10 of 15 shooting against Redlands.
Smith is third in the KJCCC in scoring at 18.2 points per game.
