Slow Start Haunts Women’s Soccer Tigers in Loss to John Brown

McPHERSON, Kan. (CCCTigers.com) – Before the fans could settle in their seats, the Tigers had already given up 3 quick goals to John Brown in a 6-0 loss to the #19 nationally ranked Golden Eagles.

“We just did not start well tonight,” said Coach Macharia following the Tigers 6-0 loss.
The Eagles came out quick with Elise Bosma scoring their 1st goal at the 1:05 mark in the 1st half, and Bosma followed that with a goal at the 5:15 mark. Lauren Walter scored her 5th goal of the season in-between Bosma’s goals. The next 45 minutes saw Tiger goalie, Celina Vanhaezebrouck block or save a barrage of JBU shots at goal, as the Golden Eagles went into the half with a 3-0 lead.

The Eagles were able to strike quickly in the 2nd half as Bosma was able to score her 3rd goal of the game. Two Late goals by the Eagles, completed the scoring for the Eagles, as they were victorious 6-0.

Amaya Chaffee was able to get the lone 2 shots at goal for the Tigers as they were outshot 26-2.

The Tigers (5-7, 1-4) will travel to Oklahoma City, to take on the Oklahoma City University Stars (7-4-1, 3-1-1) in SAC Action. The Match will kick off at 1pm, and can be seen on the SAC Sports Network.
