McPHERSON, Kan. (MacBulldogs.com) — McPherson College Head Women’s Soccer Coach Mark Olson announced today that he is resigning from his position at the conclusion of the 2024 season. Olson will continue to lead the program through the final stretch of the season with three games remaining.

Coach Olson assumed the Head Coach position in 2017 after serving as the Associate Head Coach for two seasons. He led the Bulldogs to two KCAC tournament appearances, and had multiple players receive all-conference honors during his tenure.

“I’d like to thank former Athletics Director Doug Quint, and President Schneider for giving me the opportunity to serve the McPherson College Women’s Soccer program. I also want to thank my players and current Athletics Director Josh Daume and Associate AD Ed Loeb for their continued support over the last couple of years. I appreciate the experience I have had at MC and look forward to watching the women’s soccer program and McPherson College continue to grow and succeed,” said Coach Olson.

“We appreciate Mark’s dedicated service to McPherson College Women’s Soccer,” stated Athletics Director Josh Daume. “He has represented MC in a first-class manner and recruited some outstanding student-athletes to McPherson College. We respect his decision to step-down and wish him and his wife Kelly the very best moving forward.”

A national search for the next head coach will begin immediately.
