OCU’s Quick Start Haunts Men’s Soccer Tigers

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (CCCTigers.com) – Action started fast as the Oklahoma City University Stars scored 2 goals in the 1st 4 minutes to jump to a quick lead, and the Tigers ended up falling to the Stars 4-1.

Despite 2 quick goals the Tigers were able to get one back as Johnny Rodriguez was able to score his 6th goal of the season at the 5:15 mark of the 1st half. The game stayed that same score for the next 80 minutes of play. The Tigers were able to get a couple good looks at equalizers near the end of the 1st half with shots by Tyler Hoxie, and Spencer Berger, but were unsuccessful.

The Tigers were able to match the Stars shot for shot from the 5:15 mark of the 1st half to the 84:45 mark of the 2nd half, where the Stars were able to get a goal on John Stottlemire. In the following minute the Stars aggressively attacked goal, where Stottlemire saved 2 and blocked one, but the Stars were able to get their 4th goal of the game on the 5th shot of the barrage at goal 3 minutes later at 88:00, to end the scoring and the game, as it went to the Stars 4-1.

The Tigers (5-7-2) travel to Chickasha, Oklahoma to take on the Drovers of the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (5-5-4). Game is set for Tuesday, with a kickoff at 7:30pm. Game can be seen on the SAC Sports Network.
