LINDSBORG, Kan. (MacBulldogs.com) — Make it eight straight match wins and now three straight sweeps for the Bulldogs as they move to 6-1 in KCAC play with a sweep victory over Bethany College.
McPherson took full control of set one early on, pushing their lead out to 11-7 to force the Swedes to call a timeout. The Bulldogs continued the carry the momentum, scoring eight of the final nine rally points in the set to win it, 25-13.
Similar to set one, the Bulldogs took command of set two early one. Holding a 9-8 lead, the Bulldogs scored six of the next seven rally points to extend the lead to 15-9 and force Bethany to call a timeout. MC went another run late in the set, scoring five straight rally points to win the set, 25-17.
The Swedes made an effort multiple times in the third set to change the tide of the match, but the Bulldogs stood strong through every attempt. Despite every effort, the Swedes were unable to overcome the early lead built by the Bulldogs as they took a commanding 14-9 lead and never looked back. MC secured the sweep with a 25-17 win in set three.
Enya Fierens led the team with 10 kills followed by Katie Warden who recorded eight. Raegan Murphy once again eclipsed 20 assists with 23 in the match.
The Bulldogs return home for their homecoming match against Evangel University. Gametime is set for 6:00 p.m.
