McPHERSON, Kan. (MacBulldogs.com) – The Bulldogs took a short drive to their cross town foe and pushed their win streak out to double digits as MC swept the Central Christian College Tigers yesterday evening (Oct 22) to collect their 10th straight win.

McPherson was in complete command throughout the first set, jumping out to a quick 4-0 lead and never looking back. The Bulldogs went on several large runs to push out their lead and secured a 1-0 match lead by winning set one, 25-11.

The Tigers kept things close to start the second set, but MC flexed their muscles and scored 17 of the next 18 rally points which included a run of 10 straight rally points in favor of the Bulldogs. This dominant run fueled MC to a 25-8 set two victory and a 2-0 match lead.

Set three saw the Tigers take the early lead, scoring four of the first five rally points and giving themselves only their second lead in the entire match. The lead was short lived as the Bulldogs stormed back to take a 10-8 lead to force the Tigers to call a timeout. MC kept rolling out of the timeout, scoring nine straight rally points to take a commanding lead. The Bulldogs held onto this momentum and rode it to a 25-14 win in set three and secure a clean sweep.

This win gives the Bulldogs an overall 2-1 lead over the Tigers in the McPherson Collegiate Cup with the next matchup being set for November 5th when the MC basketball teams make the short drive to Jerry Alexander Arena for the annual Mayors Cup matchups.

The Bulldogs volleyball squad returns to action today at 7 p.m. for a home match against York University.
