COLBY, Kan. (KJCCC.org) – A massive offense week for Neosho County’s Olivia Gibson and the eighth shutout of the season for Johnson County’s Katie Stoskopf have led to Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division 2 Women’s Soccer Player of the Week honors for week nine of the 2024 season.
Olivia Gibson (Neosho County) – Gibson netted six total goals last week across two matches and tallied 15 total points after assisting on three other goals. The sophomore’s goal against Allen opened the scoring and proved to be the game-winner in a 2-0 Panther win against the Red Devils as Gibson leads KJCCC D2 women’s soccer in goals (19) and points (41), both of which rank in the top 20 in NJCAA D2 women’s soccer this season.
Katie Stoskopf (Johnson County) – JCCC sophomore Katie Stoskopf earned her eighth shutout of the season in a 15-0 win at Southeast on Saturday. Her eight shutouts tie for fourth in the country and she leads NJCAA D-II goalkeeper with a goals-against average of 0.12. She also is tied for the lead nationally allowing just one goal all season long.
